Katsonga obtains court injunction against Speaker on Ngoni regalia

Former Speaker of the National Assembly who is also Member of Parliament (MP) for Mwanza Central Davies Katsonga has obtained an injunction restraining the Speaker of the National Assembly Richard Msowoya from stopping him on his Ngoni tribe headgear.

Katsonga was suspended in Parliament two weeks ago by Deputy Speaker Clement Chiwaya for resisting the request by Chiwaya to remove his Ngoni headgear.

The standing order number 205 talks about black suits, trouser, jacket and putting on a necktie which I wore at that time but it does not forbid other necessities that a person can wish to put on, women are allowed to put on headgears, Zibangiri but those are not mentioned in the standing order,” said Katsonga.

Meanwhile Msowoya is yet to comment on the matter.
