Pregnant woman commits suicide over family disputes

Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that a pregnant woman has committed suicide at Likoma Island by hanging herself to a tree over family disputes.

According to information at hand, the deceased was not happy with her husband’s behavior.

The source told this publication that the husband was fond of accusing her of misusing money meant for family consumption.

It is said that the family was running a small scale business of buying and selling fish at the Island and money generated from the business was used to buy food and other basic needs of the family.

Instead of appreciating what the wife was doing, the husband was busy criticizing her each and every day over money issues.

Things went out of hand on Tuesday afternoon when the woman decided to commit suicide by hanging herself to a tree.

The deceased was seven months pregnant.
