Mutharika appoints DPP’s ‘sesa sesa’ orator Saonda into Information Ministry

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has appointed Director of Public Events George Saonda in the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to head administration department in the ministry of information, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Saonda replaces Charles Banda whose contract expired in July.

According to the statement signed by Chief Secretary to the President Lloyd Muhara, Saonda has been given a 22 months contract.

Saonda first came into the limelight in the run up to the 2014 political campaign as a staunch supporter of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) with his campaign mantra sesa Joyce sesa (sweep Joyce out)
