Updates on MK1.5 million Kawale robbery: MDF soldier escapes from police

Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldier connected in the MK1.5 million robbery that happened in Kawale 2 in the capital Lilongwe has escaped from police cell.

The MDF soldier identified as Blessings Banda of Kamuzu Barracks was arrested earlier this week together with three armed thugs.

Banda together with his co-accused were answering robbery with violence.

According to inside sources, asked the officers who were on guard to let him go for personal privileges and he never come back.

It is said that the MDF soldier has once again escaped.

Meanwhile police have launched manhunt for the said suspect.
