Marriage is a beautiful thing. It is a way of sealing love between two people, but while there are people who see and believe this reality, there are a lot of others who don’t.

Instead, they see nothing but evil and pain in marriage. Let’s take a look at some of the reasons this is true these days.

SCARCITY OF ‘DECENT ENOUGH’ WOMEN

Well, sadly, a lot of men have somehow been made to think that there aren’t enough decent women available for marriage today.

Reasons they hold this belief ranges from the awful experiences they might have had in past relationships, and stories they’ve heard from people around them.

But of course, this isn’t true, either ways. There are loads of very decent and ‘marry- able’ women out there. The truth is most guys just don’t want to take notice of them, perhaps because they don’t tick other boxes they may have.

THE COST OF MARRIAGE

The world has continued to grow, and a lot of things are changing. There are changes being applied to different areas of living, including marriage.

There’s also very high competition amongst most ladies when it comes to weddings. Everyone wants to have the most glamorous, and of course that oftentimes amounts to a lot of money.

In certain parts of the world, like Africa where the man is expected to foot the bills, most usually feel discouraged because of the financial implications of having a decent wedding.

So most men would rather stay single for a long time than spend a lifetime in debts. However true this is though, the reality is that weddings do not necessarily have to be expensive. People still have cheap weddings, and they’re happy at the end of the day.

Just because you’ve seen people spend loads of cash on their wedding doesn’t mean you have to follow suit. What matters is the act in itself, not the ceremony. Wedding is only for a day, marriage is for a long time.

THE UNENDING SEARCH FOR ‘THE RIGHT ONE’

For a lot of men, it’s not that they don’t believe in marriage, of course, they do, the only problem they seem to have is finding the perfect woman.

They keep jumping from woman to woman for years and decades perhaps, and they forget that marriage isn’t about finding the perfect person, but finding the one you can tolerate their imperfections.

THEY CAN ALWAYS GET SEX OUTSIDE MARRIAGE

Unfortunately, some men believe that the purpose of marriage is to have a steady sex partner, and since they could always get the same out of marriage, what’s the point?

That’s pure ignorance of course, marriage is bigger than that, and people like that forget that sex in marriage is different from premarital sex because it offers more protection.

UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS FROM FAMILY

Some parents have set certain standards for anyone who will marry their child.

However, it doesn’t matter if such expectations are from the groom’s parents or the bride’s, these regulations sometimes affect relationships.
