Chief Ngolongoliwa forces Kaliati, Masangwi to apologies for endorsing Chilima

Information sourced by faceofmalawi indicates Paramount Chief Ngolongoliwa and Leston Mulli on Tuesday night pressured Patricia Kaliati and Noel Masangwi to publicly apologize for endorsing the country’s vice President Saulos Chilima as the party torchbearer in the 2019 polls.

This happened at a meeting held at Sanjika Palace in the commercial capital Blantyre aimed at resolving the standoff rocking the party.

According to information at hand, members of the Saulos Chilima faction were threatened to apologize and denounce Chilima in support of President Peter Mutharika’s candidature but they refused.

The Chilima’s camp said Paramount Chief Ngolongoliwa and Mulli were on the centre in issuing the threats.

Mutharika was however not in attendance.

Meanwhile Kaliati has said she will not backtrack.
