30-year-old man who had gone missing four months ago has been found dead in a woodlot in Mangochi.

The deceased was identified as Stephano Msusa who hailed from M’gona village in the area of sub traditional authority Chiunda in Mangochi.

His truancy was reported  at Malombe Police Unit on April  5 this year and a search to trace him proved futile.

Stephano disappeared from home after he picked a quarrel with his sister over a wetland and left a suicide note that his relatives will no longer see him.

On the afternoon of August 3, 2018, he was found lifeless in a decomposed state under a Mopone(tsanya) tree with a rope around his neck by the owner when he was patrolling his forest.

The Police visited the scene of incident and the body remains has been positively  identified by relatives by means of clothes which were found at the scene.

Postmortem conducted by the medical personnel revealed that death was due to suffocation.

The Police in the district is appealing to the general public to seek for other alternatives of solving problems other than terminating one’s life.
