Yunus Mussa denies joining UTM

Date:

Former Member of Parliament for Zomba Central Constituency Yunus Mussa who is also one of the senior members of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has quashed rumours hovering on the social media that he has defected to the United Transformation Movement.

Last week the social media was awash with reports that Mussa has dumped DPP and has joined UTM of the country’s Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima.

The speculations had it that Mussa will be welcomed into the movement during a rally scheduled to be conducted in Zomba this coming Saturday.

But addressing a development meeting at Matiya Primary School at Chikanda in Zomba, Mussa trashed the rumours describing it as baseless.

Mussa said he is still in DPP and urged party followers to vote for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika in the forthcoming 2019 polls.
