Mutharika registers in Thyolo ahead of 2019 polls

President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika spared time in the week register in the ongoing voter registration exercise for 2019 tripartite elections.

Mutharika, who is the Presidential candidate for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), registered at his home village, Goliati in Thyolo on Thursday.

The President revealed this during the official opening of Ida Community College in Chiradzulu.

“I want to reveal a secret to you. Do you want me to reveal the secret? I have registered today at Goliati,” attracting ululations from the people gathered at the event.

Mutharika then urged the people across the country to go and register in the registration exercise being carried out by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC).

Apart from Thyolo, the registration exercise is also taking place in Balaka, Phalombe, Neno and Mulanje districts.
