MCP disqualifies Karonga North aspiring candidate for perpetrating violence during primaries

The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has disqualified Karonga North aspiring candidate Adams Kiwusu Mwenitete from taking part in the party’s primary elections for allegedly failing to control his supporters from engaging in violence last week.

MCP Director of Elections Dr. Elias Chakwera has confirmed the development in an interview with Zodaik Broadcasting Station (ZBS).

According to Chakwera, the decision follows the fracas which erupted during the primary elections in the Constituency last week.

He said the party has endorsed James Mwayisemba as its candidate for the constituency.

Meanwhile, Kiwusu-Mwenitete says he is yet to get official communication from the party and that he will make his final decision after consulting his constituents.
