Well-known comedian Eric Mabedi popularly known as Jakobo has disclosed that a kidney donor to his long time problem has been found.
Mabedi, who is undergoing dialysis at Mwaiwathu Hospital in Blantyre, is in urgent need of a kidney transplant and needs K20 million to travel to India.
Friends of Eric Mabedi sounded an SOS calling on well-wishers to help the veteran actor.
The plea saw the government through the Ministry of Health and Population offering to airlift Mabedi to India for Kidney transplant.
The Ministry asked Mabedi to identify a Kidney donor before the trip.
Speaking in an interview with the press on Thursday, Madebi disclosed that the kidney donor is found.
“The donor of the kidney is available and all the passports are ready and so we are just waiting for communication from the government,” he said.
Meanwhile it is not known as to when Mabedi will leave the country for medical treatment.
