Three people have sustained serious injuries in a road traffic accident which occurred today after a Nissan Vanette they were travelling in collided head-on with an oncoming Shacman truck.

The accident occurred around 08:40 in Chisamba along the Great North Road in Zambia

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed this in a statement and said the accident happened when the driver of the truck was overtaking improperly and went to collide head on with the oncoming Nissan Vanette.

Katongo said the accident involved Alfred Mwansa of unknown age of S.O.S Lusaka who was driving a Nissan Vanette registration number ALZ 7804 from South to North and an unknown driver who was driving a Shacman Truck, unregistered from North to South.

She said the driver of the Nissan Vanette and his two passengers identified as Bridget Nkaka aged 32 of Zanimuone in Lusaka and Lisa Kalikumase of unknown age of Kabwata in Lusaka sustained multiple injuries and are all admitted to Liteta Hospital.
