Well-known comedian Eric Mabedi, popularly known as Jakobo is this afternoon leaving the country for a kidney transplant in India.
Initially, Mabedi was expected to leave the country on October 28, 2018 but the trip was delayed by the government after failing to secure some health report from a hospital in India.
Higger Mkandawire, a member of Friends of Mabedi confirmed of the development in an interview with the press this morning, saying Mabedi will leave the country through Chileka International Airport (KIA).
Mkandawire hailed government for the kind gesture shown to Mabedi.
The trip to India will cost goventment money amounting to MK20 million.
