Mutharika blames previous governments on energy

Launching the first-ever mega solar project, President Peter Mutharika pushed the blame on previous government for failing to develop the energy sector.

Canadian JCM Company is investing in the solar project which will add 60 megawatts solar photovaltic power to Escom’s national grid. Around 244 000 solar panels will be installed on the 160 hectares piece of land.

President Mutharika said beside solar energy, his administration is also investing in wind and coal powered energy. He then appealed for patience, saying longterm projects take time.
