MEC ANNOUNCES NOMINATION FEES

The Malawi electoral commission(MEC) has officially announced nomination fees for all aspiring candidates in the forth coming 2019 polls.

According to MEC, Presidential candidates are required to pay 2 Million Malawi kwacha each and aspiring males members of parliament to pay 5 hundred thousand Malawi kwacha each,while aspiring females candidates to pay 2 hundred thousand Malawi kwacha each.

MEC also says, aspiring males Councillors to pay 40 thousand Malawi kwacha and for the females Councillors to pay 20 thousand Malawi kwacha respectively.

The nomination letters are expected to reach MEC by 4 February 2019 to 8 February 2019.
