ZAMBIA – Three young Miners have died while one has escaped unhurt in a mine accident which happened at Fipe area at Shinkole village in Senior Chief Mwewa’s area.
The three young died as they were mining Manganese minerals around 14:00 hours.
And the deceased have been identified as Felix Kalembe aged 11 years, a grade two pupil, Stainslous Kope aged 15 years of Chamalawa village , and and Kelvin Kope aged 13 all pupils at Chamalawa primary school.
Meanwhile one person identified as Saviour Kope aged 11 who was in the company of the deceased escaped unhurt.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo has confirmed this in a statement and said the bodies of the deceased were retrieved by members of the public at 16:00hours the same day and deposited in Samfya District Hospital mortuary.
