Zimbabwean Pastor Lands in SA to Support Bushiri over his Arrest

Zimbabwean pastor, Prophet Uebert Angel of Good News Church has announced that he will be jetting in the Republic of South Africa to offer support to his spiritual Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.

Bushiri and his wife Mary were arrested on Friday over charges of tax evasion and money laundering.

In a message announcing his journey to South Africa Angel said: “Dear South Africa. Tomorrow I will be with you for the Diplomatic Service tomorrow at Pretoria Show grounds.
I have already begun the preparations. I want you to join me in PRAYER and FASTING starting at 00:00 CAT until 13:00 in the afternoon tomorrow.

“I cannot wait to minister to you and show that God is still speaking today!”

Angel further condemned what he called an African culture of persecuting rich people.

“It is my opinion that in Africa we have learnt to specialise in arresting successful black people more than specialising in arresting poverty.”He said.

Bushiri and his wife who were arrested at their Sparkling Waters Hotel in Rustenburg on Friday, are expected to appear before the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Pretoria on today, Monday where they are expected to be formally charged and apply for bail.

On Saturday there were reports that the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU), a branch of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), has joined the legal fight against the controversial couple and has filed a preservation order seeking to seize their assets, pending the finalisation of the criminal case against them.

Two sources familiar with developments said the AFU had already filed an application at the High Court in Pretoria, seeking its permission to seize the Bushiris’ luxury houses and cars, as well as the self-styled prophet’s Gulfstream private jet, which is parked in a private hangar at Lanseria Airport outside Johannesburg.
