Chilima Endorses June 20 Demonstrations

United transformation Movement (UTM) president Saulos Chilima has called on his supporters to rally behind Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the June 20 national wide demonstrations.
Chilima made the call in Lilongwe during a ‘thank you’ rally at Masintha ground.
Chilima urged his supporters to leverage the numeric strength among the opposition parties, CSO representatives and Malawians of good will to demonstrate against what he called poor elections administration.
He, therefore, urged Malawi Police to work professionally during the peaceful protest citing that it is their responsibility to protect Malawians. “To our police, on June 20 no one should fire teargas to the peaceful Malawians who will be protesting demanding for justice,” said Chilima
