Elections Case: Court Proceedings to have Chichewa Translation

Judge Healy Potani has said this time the court proceedings will have a chichewa translation to allow every malawian to follow the court case as one way of ensuring that no one is being left behind.

Judge potani has however said that the court will spend more time on the matter than normal.

The elections case which is being broadcast live on radio, television and online, the media has only been allowed to broadcast live audios restraining them from live visuals.

Judge Potani who is chairing the panel, says all efforts have also been made to ensure smooth proceedings without a lot of delays.

“We did indicate that we will sit in ten days in succession minus weekend days but we have decided to add the number of days to 12.” Judge Potani said.

Each party to the case will be given maximum of ten minutes to explain the gist of their case. Later after, there will be cross-examinations of those who made sworn statements.
