Police in Ntcheu have arrested a Mozambiquean couple for selling their four year old child with albinism.
Police spokesperson in Ntcheu Sub-inspector Hastings Chigalu confirmed the arrest of the couple.
Chigalu has identified the couple as Juao Biswas, 19 and his wife Sonia Sipotsi, 30.
According to Chigalu the couple was spotted at Tsangano market wanting to sell their child.
“On Thursday 19 September 2019 we got a tipoff that the there is a couple from Mozambique that is looking for customers to buy their Child. Following a tipoff we apprehended the couple and will appear in court soon,” said Chigalu.
According to Chigalu the couple was offering the child at k9.5million.
The couple is currently under custody at Ntcheu Police.
