MAN GETS 6YRS YEARS IHL FOR STEALING A PHONE

Limbe Magistrate Court in Blantyre on Wednesday sentenced a 25 year old man, Felix Chikalimba to 6yrs imprisonment with hard labour for stealing a mobile phone belonging to a woman at Machinjiri Township in Blantyre.
Court heard that on August 17 Felix Chikalimba attacked a woman, Khumbo Mkandawire when she was coming from Machinjiri town ship where he tried to rape her but failed and grabbed the phone from the woman.
Well-wishers reported the matter to police that led to the arrest of Felix Chikalimba.
Appearing in court Chikalimba denied all allegations forcing the state to parade 3 witnesses and he was later convicted.
Chikalimba comes from Machinjiri area.
