Malawian Teacher Wears School Uniform to Motivate Learners (See pictures)

A Malawian primary school teacher Darlie Chipondeni Zomba has found her own way of motivating the would be youngsters to be in school full time by dressing as one of their own, she puts on a school uniform when teaching.

Her presentation and dedication towards her work has invited mixed reactions from different people as some are applauding her saying she is being a role model to young girls.

One of the commentators who was impressed with Chipondeni Zomba praised her by saying a learner can be motivated by seeing their teacher.

Patricia Maluwa writes “Mphunzitsi koma uyu, olo mwana atakhala mbuli yothelatu akhoza kuchita bwino m’class! m’dalitso wapita koyenera!” (this is how a teacher is supposed to be, even if a child can be that dumb is likely to do well in class, the blessing has gone to the right place.)

Another one Mercy Yohane Awawa sent he blessing to Chipondeni Zomba saying” may God increase her territory amaigwira.” (She is a hard worker)

Eneli Trinity Mhango “I respect teachers, they do a lot. They are supposed to be paid handsomely. My kid was on holiday koma yhooo he was all over and I wondered how teachers do it taking care of all those kids”

However, not all were amazed with what Chipondeni Zomba did, in their view, what she did is far from motivating learners.

In her remarks Greates Msiska said she was supposed to be ‘slaying’ in so doing she can pose as a role model to would be youngsters.

“Koma ada u role model ubwela bwanj apa ana azisilila kuti nane ndizaphuzile ndizizavala ngati madam awo ung’onoung’ono uniform ali nayo kale,” (How can pupils see her as a role model? She was supposed to be slaying since the learners already have the uniform). writes Greates Msiska.

Concurring with Msiska, Annie Msyali said she cannot understand the motive behind.

“My thinking as well…I can’t understand the motive behind…mphuzitsi kuvala ngati mwana wa sukulu ..kumafanana nawo Ana? Aaah sawapanga motivate /inspire ana ka ..INE sindinazikonde ndithu…kukonda kusiyana… perhaps an missing something” (I can’t understand the motive behind, a teacher dressing like a student? and look like one of them? She is not motivating them, i am not supporting this, perhaps an missing something). writes Msyali.
