MCP’s key witness Daudi Suleman laps-up testimony, case adjourned to Monday

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s key witness Daudi Suleman has finalized testifying in the ongoing Presidential election case.

Suleman started testifying using Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) gadgets on Thursday afternoon at the constitution court in the capital Lilongwe.

On Friday morning, Suleman continued with his testimony.

In his testimony, Suleman demonstrated how the ghost account was allegedly created to approve results, which he says were being made by Mec IT team using personal emails despite the employees being public servants and guided by ICT policy that does not allow use of private mail, unless formal application to ICT organisation is sought.

In his conclusion, Suleman said through his simulation, that the May 21 polls were declared based on manipulated results, which was done by a script and not a human being.

Attornery General Kalekeni Kaphale who is also representing Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) will start cross-examining Suleman on Monday morning regarding his testimony.

According to Kaphale, he cross examination will last for a day only.

Meanwhile the case has been adjourned to Monday.
