A 24-year-old Australian woman who calls herself “the Blue Eyed White Dragon” said she was blind for three weeks after getting her eyeballs inked blue.

Obsessed with getting tattoos since she was 16, Amber Luke, from New South Wales said the 40-minute procedure was the most dangerous procedure she has had to date.

“It was very intense and very painful. My eyes got held open while a syringe was injected into my eye four times per eye,” she told the Daily Mail Austria.

Elaborating on how the procedure felt, she told Barcroft TV: “The best thing I can give you is once the eyeball was penetrated with the ink, it felt like he grabbed 10 shards of glass and rubbed it in it in my eye.”

But according to Luke, the tattoo artist went too deep into her eyeball.

“If your eyeball procedure’s done correctly, you’re not supposed to go blind at all. I was blind for three weeks. That was pretty brutal.”

Among the body modification procedures she has had over the last eight years, Luke has had cheek and lip fillers, a boob job, implants in her ears and about 200 tattoos, spending a total of $37,000 Australian dollars (C$33,500).

Aware that many are puzzled at why she would choose to have these procedures, Luke said everyone’s perception of beauty is different.

“You see cultures stretching their ears and stretching their necks, their lips,” she told Barcroft TV. “It’s all different ideas of what beauty is, and that’s OK.

While she doesn’t intend to undergo any more extreme procedures, she told the Daily Mail she plans to be “fully covered” in tattoos by March 2020.
