Woman threatens to kill co-wife for cheating on their hubby

A woman was charged on Friday with threatening to kill her younger co-wife whom she wants out of their marriage for cheating on the shared husband.

Electine Khakasa was charged with threatening to kill Angeline Ngao, 45, and insulting her.

She is alleged to have committed the offence on November 17 at their Khalanda Village, Navakholo sub-county.

Khakasa is alleged to have told Ngao: “Hata mkiniroga nimetembea Mombasa. Ile madawa niko nayo hamtaniweza. Nimekupa dakika 15 utoke kwa boma na usipoenda nitakuweka kwa mchanga.”

The documents tendered in court show that the complainant was resting under a tree shade in her compound on the fateful Sunday afternoon when the alleged offender disrupted her peace.

Ngao heard the accused shouting the words and her attempts to enquire what was wrong, the accused became more abusive.

Khakasa is said to have ordered the complainant to leave the compound and go to “her men” and leave her (Khakasa) with her husband.

The accused is further alleged to have told Ngao that her days in their matrimonial property were numbered since she would eliminate her and consequently bury her.

“Nenda ukalale na mabwana zako” the accused is said to have shouted, disparaging her co wife.

When she appeared before Kakamega Resident Magistrate William Lopokoiyit, the accused denied the offence.

She was granted Sh80,000 bond with a surety of similar amount. The matter shall be heard on January 27, 2020.
