13-year-old detained for sexually abusing minor boy in public park

A 13-year-old was detained for allegedly sexually abusing a minor boy in public garden in Malad (east). The accused boy has been sent to a government-run children’s home in Dongri area.

The police officials said that the two boys did not know each other. On November 17, the 12-year-old survivor, a school student was walking along the road when the accused approached him.

In a friendly manner, he called the survivor to the garden area in the neighbourhood, where he sexually abused him

According to a report, three days later when the survivor naratted his ordeal to his parents, they approached the Kurar police station and an FIR was lodged in the matter. The boy was immediately taken for a medical examination.

Reportedly, the survivor gave a description of the accused to the police, based on which the police traced the boy. The cops retrieved CCTV footage of the area and the accused was tracked down. He was detained from Malad (east) and now he has been sent to police custody.

However, a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered and further probe in the matter is underway.

In a similar case reported from Bihar’s Kaimur district, a minor student was allegedly gang-raped by four persons in a car while they were giving her a lift to her coaching classes.

The victim is a Class 10 student who told the police that after seeing the video she was scared and could not reach out to the police. The victim said the accused also threatened to kill her if she spoke about the incident to anyone.

However, further probe, in this case, is underway too.
