Malawi Congress Party (MCP) president Lazarus Chakwera has accepted to meet president Peter Mutharika face to face in order to find solutions to end political impasse in the country.
Chakwera’s positive response to meet Mutharika came in following the meeting between Mutharika and Public Affairs Committee (PAC) in Lilongwe on Monday where Mutharika asked PAC to go back to the opposition and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
Bishop Gilford Matonga said that Chakwera has accepted to meet Mutharika face to face to find solution’s to end the political tension.
United Transformation Movement (UTM) leader Saulos Chilima and Chakwera petitioned the court seeking nullification of the May 21 polls results- in which Mutharika was declared a winner arguing that the whole results management was marred by irregularities.
