HRDC Plans to Invite UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights to Inspect the Country

The vocal organization on human rights, Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has said it will invite United Nation’s special Rapporteur on human rights defenders to inspect the country’s situation.

This comes at a time when human rights abuse cases are remain alarming, a development that has caused worry to human rights advocates.

A UN special Rapporteur is an independent expert appointed by Human rights council to examine and report back on country’s human rights situation.

HRDC Northern Region Chairperson Happy Mhango said the organization has started the process of inviting the special UN envoy.

Mhango has further come out clear to say the organization is not betraying government but doing a right thing for Malawians.
