Frequent accidents force Malawi Posts Corporation to withdraw its buses on the road

Malawi Posts Corporation (MPC) has suspended operations of its newly procured buses on the country’s roads, Faceofmalawi can reveal.

The suspension follows back to back accidents of MPC buses with the latest being which happened at Senzani in Ntcheu, injuring two women.

Management has confirmed of the development made available to Faceofmalawi reporter.

“We would like to inform our valued customers that we have temporarily suspended our bus service from the 20th to the 23rd of January.

“This has been done to reassess all safety and riks factors with an aim to address them within the period. Service will resume on Friday 24th January 2020 at 7:30am in all regions,” reads part of the statement.

The first MPC bus was involved in road accident last year in Kasungu.
