Mpinganjira’s bail scandal: Judge Nyakaunda calls for inter-parte hearing

High Court Judge Dorothy Nyakaunda has called for an inter-parte hearing today 2 PM after reviewing the file from Zomba Magistrate’s Court.

On Friday last week, the High Court in Blantyre ordered for the file of case where Magistrate Benedicto Chitsakamire quashed a warrant of arrest of Thom Mpinganjira obtained by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

This was so because of the anomalies and the manner in which the order was made considering the fact this happened on the middle of the night.

Mpinganjira is accused of attempting to bribe Judges handling the Presidential polls case where Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dr. Saulos Chilima are seeking nullification of the polls.

Meanwhile the constitutional court is expected to deliver its ruling on the matter any day this week.
