Leave alone women and children, it seems even the animals are not safe from the eyes of sexual predators.
In one such incident that is a blot on humanity, a man tried to ‘rape’ a goat in East Burdwan district of West Bengal.
The man was said to be in an inebriated condition when he attempted to commit the crime. The accused was later caught and thrashed by the local residents.
According to a report in news agency PTI, the accused is in a critical condition after the thrashing. Police said the incident took place in Tikepara village of Kalna on Tuesday evening.
“The goat owner tied the animal to a post at the courtyard of a house. Later, he went out of the house for some work. The man’s neighbours claim that they saw a drunk man attempting to rape the goat. Later, a mob thrashed the accused,” said a police officer.
Later, the police rescued the man from the mob. The man has been admitted to Kalna sub-divisional hospital in a critical condition. He is being treated at the hospital under a security cover.
