At least 3 people have been arrested for suspected killing and removing private parts of a 64 year old man in Ntcheu.
The victim, Kenneth Zinoti Bakulo, hailed from Mtentha village Traditional Authority (T/A) Makwangwala in the district is believed t have been killed on the night of March 3 by unknown people.
According to Ntcheu police records, the deceased was living with his wife Eluby Zinoti whom he has been married to for 40 years and were staying at the wifeâ€™s home village, Chokazinga.
The late Zinoti, has been a sawyer for many years and sometimes he used to sell his planks at Kampepuza market in the district.
On his fateful day, Zinoto left his home around 19:00 hourâ€™s home to Tsangano with an aim of checking some planks considering that the next day was a market day.
He carried with him a blanket and a bed sheet to use at night, however, he never came back home until on 04/03/2020 around 1000hrs when he was discovered by his wife lying dead between millet ridges behind his toilet with all his belongings around except one blue shirt.
The matter was reported to Police and the scene was visited in company of a medical doctor where the body was discovered with multiple deep and sharp wounds all over the head and back accompanied by a cut neck.
It was also noted that his penis was cut off leaving a sharp cut wound.
Postmortem revealed that death was due to severe bleeding following the cut wounds.
Investigations led into the discovery of some blood stains on the wall of his son’s house which is almost ten meters away where upon searching thoroughly some fresh blood was also discovered buried between the ridges very close to the house.
Meanwhile his son and two grandchildren namely (1)Jolly Zinoti Bakulo a. 18yrs, (2) Fanuel Chadza a. 18yrs and (3)Gift Magombo a. 20yrs all who occupies the house have been detained for questioning.
