Mhango Says, College of Medicine Can Diagonose Corona Virus

Minister of Health Jappie Mhango said, he is impressed to note that the college of medicine has the capacity to diagnose corona virus.

Mhango said the circumstance means that the country will start testing for the corona virus as early as next week and not next month as planned.

“I am very delighted to tell the nation that College of Medicine has capacity to test for corona virus. What remains now is for Government to provide the institution with test kits and we are good to go,” said |Mhango.

On his part, Principal for the College of Medicine, Dr Mwapasa Mipando, affirmed that “College of Medicine has a laboratory that can diagnose corona virus”.

World Health Organisation (WHO) on Wednesday, proclaimed corona virus, a pandemic.

It advised countries to take necessary steps towards the fight against COVID-19.
