UP Joins UTM-MCP Alliance


Umodzi Party (UP) through its leader, professor John Chisi, has announced that it has joined United Transformation Movement (UTM) and Malawi Congress Party (MCP) alliance.

UP leader said this during UTM rally yesterday at Njamba.

Chisi said, his party has joined the alliance to help in alleviating tribalism.

He added that UTM leader, Saulos chilima and other people that are in the alliance can help to change the economic status of Malawi.

In her remarks, UP publicity secretary Sadana Bakili, said the decision was arrived at after they went through the manifestos of all parties in Malawi.

“We believe that Dr Chilima has the capacity to develop Malawi to the desired standards,” she said.

UTM Leader was holding his first rally in Blantyre since the high court nullified last years presidential elections.
