South African Dancer Kamo Mphela Flees Off Stage After Her Pants Ripped

Amapiano fans were deeply disappointed on Saturday after Amapiano dance queen, Kamo Mphela, rushed off stage after a brief appearance during her performance at the DSTV Mzansi Viewer’s Choice Awards.

Mphela’s performance was short-lived after her pants got torn in the middle of her highly charged performance.

With one hand covering her back to preserve her dignity, Mphela made her sweet escape, leaving many puzzled.

In an interview with South African online publication, the 20-year-old confirmed that she indeed suffered a wardrobe malfunction.

“I felt my pants rip the first time but decided to continue thinking it’s not bad, when I heard them rip again I knew I had to get off stage. At that time all I could think of, was in order to survive this I needed to get off stage in respect of the audience at home and my industry peers,” she said.

“I’ve learned that I need to be prepared always double up clothes if I have to. I can’t say I was robbed, accidents happen all the time [I’m] looking forward to more events like these,” she added.

Social media users were quick to react to the short-lived performance whilst some took at jab at her pants.
