Information reaching Faceofmalawi indicates that 15 people have been arrested for allegedly being involved in chaotic scenes in Chitipa.
Chitipa Police Public Relations Officer Gladwell Simwaka confirmed of the arrest in an interview with Faceofmalawi reporter.
According to Simwaka, the suspects are alleged to have stormed Chitipa police unit demanding the release of two suspects who murdered a watchman in the district.
The development resulted into running battles between the law enforncers and the angry community in the district as teargass was all over.
One of the tear gas canisters exploded behind the maternity wing.
