Goman 5 Urges Awareness on Corona Virus

Inkosi ya Makosi Gomani V of Ntcheu District has said the country needs to step up preparedness for Covid-19 pandemic which has greatly affected many countries globally.

Gomani V on Saturday said although Malawi has not yet registered a case, there is need to conduct awareness campaigns to combat the threat of the pandemic.

“The pandemic is a global concern and spreading fake news as is the case on social media platforms cannot help the situation. Let us all refrain from sharing such false information. It would be great if we would be sharing the information without causing panic,” he said.

He has also asked the government to tighten security in the boarder districts which are considered porous.

The Maseko Ngoni chief then reminded Malawians on the importance of following proper hygiene practices in a wake of the disease.
