State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima has urged President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to relocate to Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe and not remain in Blantyre where he is right now.
Chilima said this during a media briefing currently underway at the Command Centre in the capital Lilongwe.
According to Chilima, the move will ensure that allowance costs are reduced on the part of his assistants and ministers.
He said the President needs to be in Lilongwe to demonstrate that he shares the burden the country is in.
Chilima has further asked President Mutharika to donate 50 percent of his salary to the fight against COVID-19 and not 10 percent.
