Lilongwe City Council suspends Weddings, Birthday parties

Lilongwe City Council has put a temporary ban on the Weddings, bridal showers and send off, Birthday parties and other activities in the city.

Apart from these, the council has also suspended All bottle stores, All pubs and night clubs,All sports clubs and gyms and Street procession.

The development comes barely a day after the special Cabinet Committee on Coronavirus announced an increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.

This has been disclosed in a statement released on Wednesday made available to Faceofmalawi reporter.

“The Council is making a strong appeal to all owners and operators of such businesses to adhere to this ban until a time we are all safe to operate as normal,” reads part of the statement.
