Rivals Chop Off Criminals Head In Front Of His Daughter

Some reports suggesting a decline in criminal activities due to lockdown seem to have proved wrong.

In a shocking incident, a criminal was beheaded by his rivals in front of his two-year-old daughter in the Srirangam area of Trichy district in Tamil Nadu.

What was more shocking was that the three killers took the chopped head to the police station and surrendered.

The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Chandra Mohan alias Thalaivetti Chandru, a resident of Drainage Street.

According to a report in Times of India, the three-member gang intercepted Chandra Mohan when he was riding a two-wheeler with his daughter near Devi Theatre.

The accused attacked the victim with sharp weapons including a sword. The killers, however, spared Chandru’s daughter.

The three accused have been identified as 35-year-old M Saravanan, his brother 30-year-old Suresh and 24-year-old A Selvam, all residents of railway block in Srirangam.

After attacking Chandru, the killers chopped off his head and surrendered before Srirangam police. The cops later sent Chandru’s body for post-mortem and took the accused in the custody.

Police also admitted Chandru’s minor daughter to the hospital she was visibly in trauma after the murderous incident.

According to police, the past enmity between the rivals was the reason for Chandru’s murder. Police said that Chandrau and the accused Saravanan and his aides were at loggerheads over some issues for a long time.

According to Police Commissioner V Varadharaju, the past enmity between the rivals was the motive for the murder. Chandra was released on bail on April 24 in a criminal case.
