Ansah tells presidential candidates that there is only one winner in an election

The Chairperson Malawi Electoral Commission has advised presidential candidates for July 2020 elections that there is only one winner in an election.

Ansah made the remarks at Mount Soche in Blantyre after the commission received the first nomination paper from the president of Malawi Congress Party  Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, who is the torchbearer for MCP and UTM alliance.

“In an election, only one candidate wins,” she said.

She urged the hopeful candidates to conduct peaceful and sensitive the supporters on how to vote.

“Confine yourself to issue based and clean campaign,” she said

The Chairperson has since promised the Malawians that the commission will ‘free, fair and credible elections’.
