Man Hacks Wife To death Over Marital Affair With A Bludgeon

India – A man in Tirunelveli area of Tamil Nadu allegedly killed his wife and then surrendered before the police. The accused is a construction worker. He has been identified as Sorimuthu.

Sorimuthu is a native of Kurichikulam village near Thalaiyuthu in Tirunelveli. The deceased was identified as Ramlath.

Initially, Sorimuthu used to work as a construction worker in Kerala. While he was working as a construction worker, Sorimuthu fell in love with Ramlath and got married to her.

A few years ago, the couple moved back to Sorimuthu’s village. In some time, Sorimuthu and his wife became parents to two children. Ramlath and the couple’s children stayed in Kurichikulam while Sorimuthu worked in the state of Kerala.

As per the police, Ramlath started having an affair with a youth in her village. Soon, Sorimuthu’s family learned about the extramarital affair and informed him. Meanwhile, Sorimuthu’s family locked his wife inside a room.

On Monday, Ramlath went missing. Following this, the Thalaiyuthu police registered a case of a missing woman.

While on one side, the police were searching for Ramlath, Sorimuthu returned to Tirunelveli. Sorimuthu contacted Ramlath on the phone and got through. Following this, Sorimuthu went to the Tirunelveli Government Medical College Hospital for COVID-19 test on Tuesday and met his wife at the hospital.

At around 12.30 am on Wednesday, Sorimuthu and his wife were returning home when he allegedly hacked her to death near Athupalam.

The district superintendent of police (DSP) said that Ramlath suffered 3 cuts on her neck during the attack. The Thalaiyuthu police arrested the accused and booked him under section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
