Health Rights Campaigners have bemoaned the shortage of epilepsy medication in public hospitals, a development described as putting lives of patients at risk in the country.
The Epilepsy Warriors Foundation has said the situation has highly been triggered by the attention given to the fight against the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
Sam Chigamba, Executive Director of Epilepsy Warriors Foundation said the shortage of medication in hospitals is continuously rendering epilepsy patients in difficulties of seizures.

Chigamba has since called on government to deal with the situation so that the country meets the expectations of Sustainable Development Goal number 3 which advocates for the realization of healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all at all ages.
On his part, Maziko Matemba a health rights campaigner has disclosed that at the moment, health stakeholders have written the Ministry of Health to state the measures that have been put in place in order to avoid overlooking other diseases such as epilepsy.
Meanwhile, Matemba has called on government to strike a balance in resource mobilization and provision for all health issues in the country so that risks of deaths are contained among people.
