Nankhumwa asks Malawians to pray for Fresh Presidential polls

The ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa has asked Malawians to pray for the forthcoming fresh Presidential polls, saying he foresees chaos, confusion and instability.

Nankhumwa said this in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by this publication.

“The forthcoming elections shall be a recipe for chaos, confusion and instability if we don’t humble ourselves kneel down and pray for a peaceful and credible election. (2 Chronicles 7 vs 14).

“It doesn’t matter whether you are in Government or opposition. Let’s join hands and pray for our Mother Malawi. Remember we have one home we call it Malawi. And God Must heal our land Oh God bless our land of Malawi. Keep it a land of peace,” wrote Nankhumwa.

Malawi will hold fresh Presidential polls on June 23, 2020 following constitutional court order nullifying the 21, 2019 Presidential polls.

But the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is racing against time as most of the electoral materials like ballot papers are yet to arrive in the country.
