A 42 year-old woman, identified as Eunice Tchale, has died in a hit and run road accident which occurred along the Nchalo-Chikwawa Road.
She was hit by an unknown vehicle near Kukhala Motel on her way to Thom Village from St. Montffort Hospital where she was a guardian to a patient.
Following the impact, she sustained deep cuts on her head and fractures on both legs.
Her body was taken to Nchalo Health Centre where postmortem revealed that her death was due to head injuries.
The body was later taken to Chikwawa District Hospital mortuary for identification by relatives.
Meanwhile, police are warning all road users to follow road traffic rules and regulations when using roads in Malawi.
The deceased hailed from Mafale village under Traditional Authority Ngabu in Chikwawa District.
