MEC processes 18 percent of Fresh Presidential results

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has processed 18 percent of the official results of the Fresh Presidential Elections (FPE) conducted on June 23, 2020.

MEC Chairperson Dr. Chifundo Kachale disclosed this during a media briefing held at College of Medicine (CoM) in Blantyre.

Kachale has since released official results for three districts in the Southern Region.

“26 out of the 28 districts have submitted their results to MEC. The Commission has managed to curate 18% of the 28 districts,” said Kachale.

Kachale said fill results will be released this week as they were awaiting to process two remaining districts of Dowa and Mzimba.

“We are committed to get the job done as soon as possible,” he said.

He further disclosed that the commission yet to receive results from two districts of 28 districts in the country.

The two districts are Dowa and Mzimba.
