Mpinganjira bribery case committed to High Court

The Chief Resident Magistrate’s Court in Blantyre has committed a judge bribery case against business tycoon Thom Mpinganjira to the High Court.

ACB Director Reyneck Matemba asked the court to commit the case to the High Court, saying the bureau is ready for trial.

Chief Resident Magistrate Simeon Mdeza has committed the case and said will be preparing a report of the proceedings for the High Court to work on.

Mpinganjira was arrested in January this year for allegedly attempting to bribe Judges who were handling Presidential polls case in favour of Peter Mutharika.

He was later granted bail.
