Man Beaten To Death After Argument Over Filling Water

Not all crimes are the result of the law and order situation, but many of them take place due to temperamental issues and attitudes of us humans.

In a shocking incident, a 33-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death in the national capital after an argument over filling water from a common tap. The incident took place in the Najafgarh area of Delhi on Saturday night.

According to a report in Times of India, the victim has been identified as Jitendra, a resident of Jal Vihar in Najafgarh.

According to the victim’s brother Anil Singh, the local residents told him that some people were beating his brother at a farm.

“After we came to know of the incident, I and my mother reached the spot and found my brother in an injured state. Jitendra told us that our neighbour Amit Rawat along with other men thrashed him. We immediately rushed to the hospital,” said Anil.

Anil said Rawat and his mother also threatened him.

“We informed the police and the accused were brought to the police station. However, we rushed to the hospital as Jitendra’s condition deteriorated,” he added.

Jitendra’s relatives said they were not satisfied with the probe in the case. According to Jitendra’s cousin, the FIR did not mention the names of other accused who were involved in thrashing the victim.

“Jitendra had gone to fetch water from a tap located at a neighbour’s house. The accused were waiting for him at the place and badly thrashed him,” said the victim’s relative.

Meanwhile, DCP (outer) A Kaon said the probe in the case is underway and the accused Amit has been arrested.

In a similar incident in March 2018, a 60-year-old man was beaten to death allegedly over filling water from a tank in northwest Delhi’s Wazirpur. The deceased was identified as Lal Bahadur who lived with his family in SS Nagar in Wazirpur Industrial area.
