Malawi Government wishes inform the general public that the Honourable Andrew A. K.C. Nyirenda, SC, the Chief Justice of the Republic of Malawi has not proceeded on leave as was announced on June 12, 2020.

Chief Secretary to the Government, Zanga-Zanga Chikhosi, has clarified the matter in a press release.

The statement says the issue regarding the accumulated leave days of the Honourable Chief Justice is a matter between the Honourable Chief Justice and Judicial Service Commission.

Therefore, the Honourable Chief Justice continues to discharge his duties as the Chief Justice of the Republic of Malawi.
