Commentator Describes DPP Officials As Opportunists For Defecting to Tonse Govt

Political Science Lecturer Sheriff Kaisi has described officials from former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) who are defecting to Tonse Alliance government as opportunists.

Barely three weeks after the Malawi Congress Party-led partnership booted the DPP out of the government, some DPP legislators, have either defected to some of the alliance parties or declared their independence.

Outside parliament, some DPP officials are also dumping or declaring their intentions to dump the former ruling party.

DPP deputy National Director of Field Operations Lonzo Zimba announced his defection to the MCP while yesterday, eastern region governor Julius Paipi has also left.
